Unlike Duke University, appliance company Bosch is happy to be associated with the unhinged Ratliff patriarch (Jason Isaacs) in the denouement of The White Lotus Season 3.

As eagle-eyed viewers may notice, the finale of the anthology drama saw embezzler Timothy attempt to fatally poison his family with spiked piña colada drinks before backing out at the last second, and he used a blender from the German-based company to do so.

In a statement shared with TVLine, a spokesperson for BSH — the largest manufacturer of home goods in Europe — said, “While we’re very appreciative of the creative flair and immense popularity of the show in the United States, BSH is clarifying that the Bosch product featured was not provided or placed by the company. However, we can confirm that the production team did purchase the product on their own while filming abroad.”

That particular blender isn’t available in North America, and can be purchased elsewhere globally. The statement continued, “We appreciate the attention the Bosch brand is receiving as a result of this pop culture moment.”

The gesture is in markedly stark contrast with Duke University’s disavowal of the Mike White-led show. As a fictional alum of the prestigious school, Timothy is seen throughout the series in Duke tees, even as he fantasizes about suicide — and homicide — due to his poor (and illegal) financial decision-making.

“The White Lotus not only uses our brand without permission, but in our view uses it on imagery that is troubling, does not reflect our values or who we are, and simply goes too far,” Frank Tramble, Duke’s vice president for communications, marketing and public affairs, said in a statement last month. “Suicide is the second-leading cause of death on college campuses. As imagery from the show is being shared widely across social media, we are using our brand to promote mental health awareness and remind people that help is available.”
