PHOENIX — Arizona’s biggest day of online nonprofit donations raked in $4.1 million this year, according to a Wednesday announcement from AZ Impact for Good, the organization behind the yearly event.
Almost 750 nonprofits took part in Arizona Gives Day on Tuesday, although additional donations are still being tallied.
Over 19,700 donations were tallied for Arizona Gives Day 2025.
What’s the total amount of donations made after Arizona Gives Day 2025?
This brings the yearly charity event’s donation total to $51 million over the past decade.
However, this year’s total amount was less than years before. It raised more than $5.3 million in 2023 and 2024.
Still, AZ Impact for Good CEO Jennifer Purcell was happy with the end results considering the nationwide downward tend in charitable giving compared to inflation.
“This is a great showing for Arizona nonprofits and a sign of the incredible generosity of Arizona residents,” Purcell said in the announcement.
Furthermore, 389 volunteers pledged a total of 3,387 hours to their favorite nonprofit organizations during the 24-hour event.
Arizona Gives Day 2025 came during unique stress for local nonprofits
Michael Morefield with AZ Impact for Good previously told KTAR News 92.3 FM that donations were urgently needed this year due to uncertainty caused by federal funding cuts and revoked grants.
“After seeing a decline post-pandemic in charitable giving, it’s gratifying to see us approach last year’s giving levels and it’s a trend we hope holds well into the future,” Purcell said.
The total donation amount will be released later this month. People who give through the month of April will have their contributions added to the final amount for Arizona Gives Day 2025.
