Sydney Sweeney, Amanda Seyfried, Brandon Sklenar brought the hotness to CinemaCon with Paul Feig with the first look at The Housemaid, opening on Christmas Day.

“It’s going to a theater, Thank God” beamed Seyfried.

“You really have a hit on your hand,” said Feig before the trailer rolled.

We first told you about this project.

Based on the Freida McFadden novel and adapted by Rebecca Sonnenshine, the movie follows Millie (Sweeney) is a struggling young woman who is relieved to get a fresh start as a housemaid to Nina (Seyfried) and Andrew (Sklenar), an upscale, wealthy couple. She soon learns that the family’s secrets are far more dangerous than her own.

In the high gloss trailer, and for those who don’t know the book –who’s the killer here? Nina or Millie? Both have blood on heads during the trailer. Pic takes place at a mansion in the burbs during the winter. it’s clear Millie is disgruntled — she’s holding a broken plate. But Nina is burning letters. Andrew –the hunky husband any woman would want–is standing near an ambulance. It’s very clear, this is a step-up, and more grave in town than Feig’s A Simple Favor series

Said Sweeny on bringing the project to screen, “I’m a big book lover, I love reading books. The Housemaid was everywhere, Amazon and all over TikTok. I read all three (books) in one week.”

“I love when there’s so much unexpected twists and turns, and the characters are flawed and you love them at the same time. You question your own morals,” said the Euphoria actress.

“We just wrapped this movie. I will never forget the way playing Nina made me feel. I went to places I never thought I’d go to. The surprises in my own experience in playing this character, were life-affirming and career affirming,” said Seyfried.

“We reached places I never could go as an actor. We played some wacky shit. And weren’t expecting to,” the actress added.

Producers are Todd Lieberman, Carly Kleinbart Elter, Feig and Laura Fischer.
