Hailey Bieber giveth, Hailey Bieber taketh away.
On March 26 the 28-year-old model and her husband, Justin Bieber, were photographed leaving Churchome wearing two high-volume looks. For his part, Justin wore billowing baggy khaki pants with an oversized hoodie and fleece jacket.
Meanwhile, his wife looked a bit more streamlined in flared black trousers, black kitten heel mules, and Tiffany & Co. jewelry, though she echoed his oversized silhouette with a trench coat layered over a boxy cream-and-black-striped T-shirt—a far cry from the graphic baby tees she and other influencers like Kendall Jenner helped usher back into the public consciousness over the past few years.
Sure, we can’t expect Hailey Bieber to go to church in her “nepo baby” crop top, but I can’t help but wonder if this forecasts the inevitable end of the baby tee trend cycle. We certainly seem to be heading in that direction.
This February Vogue claimed striped T-shirts are set to be one of the biggest trends for 2025 after years of sartorial obscurity, while Marie Claire specifically described oversized rugby shirts as the “next big new-old obsession.” Of course, Hailey Bieber would know a thing or two about that…
Despite the controversial skinny jeans renaissance, oversized silhouettes are still at the forefront of most emerging fashion trends, from barrel jeans to more-is-more chunky jewelry. And don’t think I didn’t catch Bieber’s XL clutch, which bears a striking resemblance to the giant Coach coin purse that TikTok and fashion It girls have been salivating over since its debut on their spring 2025 runway.
Though it doesn’t appear to be the exact same bag, the overlying message for spring 2025 is clear: Go big or go home.
