While alleged creative director announcements still remain up in the air, installations and activations continue to move along. This April, Dior will stage a comprehensive retrospective in Seoul. Titled “Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams,” the exhibit originally debuted in Paris in 2017 to honor the house’s 70th anniversary and has since been shown all over the world. The show celebrates all things Christian Dior, including an in-depth look at the couturier’s rich history and the iconic Lady Dior handbag.

Staged at the city’s Dongdaemun Design Plaza, designed by the legendary late architect Zaha Hadid, April’s retrospective will feature multiple new installations. Curated by Florence Müller, the galleries will include works by Korean artists Zadie Xa, Kim HyunJoo, and Soo Sunny Park. Elsewhere, Shohei Shigematsu, a partner at OMA agency, has designed rooms surrounding the house’s celebrity-driven fragrances, including brand ambassadors Natalie Portman and Rihanna.

The retrospective is not Dior’s first time in Seoul. In late 2023, the brand kicked off Seoul Frieze with its popular “Lady Dior Celebration,” featuring 24 artists displayed inside its Seongsu-dong concept store. This time around, Dior will also renew its partnership with Ewha Womans University, an all-women’s university, and the show space for Maria Grazia Chiuri’s pre-fall 2022 destination runway.

“Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams,” will be open from April 19 to July 13. In the meantime, check out coverage from the house’s latest runway show.
