Bentley has delivered a rare Apex Edition Bentayga to collector Mark King, completing a one-of-a-kind Le Mans-themed pairing alongside his 2023 Le Mans Collection Continental GT.
One of just 20 examples crafted by Mulliner, King’s bespoke Bentayga mirrors the distinctive Verdant green and Moonbeam racing stripe livery of his Continental GT — a tribute to Bentley’s historic 2003 Le Mans victory and marking its return to victory at Le Mans in 2023 after a 73-year absence from the top of the podium. This specific livery was exclusively available to existing Le Mans Collection owners.
Based on the Bentayga S, the Apex Edition boasts a 542 hp 4L V8, capable of 0–60 mph in 4.4 seconds. Its capabilities are enhanced with Bentley Dynamic Ride, rear-wheel steering, 22-inch Mulliner carbon wheels and carbon-ceramic brakes — making it the most performance-focused Bentayga to date. Inside, the cabin features Beluga hide and Dinamica fabric seats with Hotspur contrast stitching, echoing the Le Mans model’s motorsport-inspired aesthetic.
King, a Northern Ireland-based Bentley loyalist since 2010, is known for his meticulously curated garage, which includes a Bentayga Speed, Continental GT3-R and Flying Spur. His Bentayga Speed, which has logged over 100,000 miles, is still used regularly — even for trailering his other prized vehicles.
“I didn’t hesitate when the Le Mans Continental GT was announced,” said King. “So when the Apex Edition Bentayga in matching livery became available, it was the perfect way to complete the stable.”
Both vehicles celebrate Bentley’s sixth Le Mans triumph and the Continental GT features unique touches like a rotating display with a genuine engine valve from the 2003 Speed 8 race car. Together, King’s pair marks a significant homage to Bentley’s racing legacy and craftsmanship.
