Sean “Diddy” Combs was unaware that his jail phone call with Kanye West was being recorded and would be publicly released.

“Puff didn’t know it was being recorded [on video],” a source exclusively told The Post, adding that the Bad Boy Records founder “thought he was having a friend call him to check on his kids.”

The insider further explained that Combs feels like “collateral damage in the debacle over Ye’s new song,” which Kim Kardashian was against being released as it featured her oldest daughter with West, North.

“The beef is really with Kim,” they added, explained that it is “a matter of older influential Black men knowing these guys are kind of flying blindly.”

The insider also confirmed that “the call was real and not AI” after many netizens questioned its legitimacy.

Page Six has reached out to both Combs and Ye’s reps for comment but did not immediately hear back.

On Monday, the Shade Room released a video of West speaking on the phone with Combs, who is currently incarcerated in a Brooklyn, NY, detention center.

During their call, the “Act Bad” rapper warned the Yeezy founder about people trying to “end” them.

“You be careful out there ’cause they definitely trying to end us,” Combs, 55, told his pal.

“They can’t do it and they ain’t gonna do it. I’m going to beat this s–t and get next to you,” the dad of seven added, referring to his upcoming federal trial on sex trafficking and racketeering charges.

In another part of the call, Combs said, “I’ll tell you the real from the front line. This s–t is wicked, wicked, wicked, so you be careful.”

The disgraced hip-hop mogul also encouraged West, 47, to “have some f–king fun” and to “f–k [these] other motherf–kers” who are “wasting” his time.

“When I get out there, man, I want to see you f–king tear down the stadiums,” Combs continued. “I need to see you back on that stage, f–king actually rapping and f–king performing and everything. I be dreaming of that s–t.”

Combs also praised West for connecting with his children while he’s been behind bars.

“I just want to thank you so much for just taking care of my kids, man. Ain’t nobody reach out to them, ain’t nobody call, you know what I’m saying. Nobody … That meant so much, that you reached out to them and took them under your wing,” he said.

Ye replied, saying, “Yeah, absolutely. I love you so much, man. It’s like you raised me even when I didn’t know you, you know what I’m saying?”

The record producer is the father of sons Quincy, 33, Justin, 30 and Christian, 26, as well as daughters Chance, 18, 17-year-old twins D’Lila and Jessie and Love, 1.

Last month, the “Gold Digger” rapper advocated for Combs’ freedom on X and created a line of collaborative T-shirts with the latter’s Sean John brand.

To further show his support, West released a song titled “Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine,” which featured Sean, his son Christian and Chicago artist Jasmine Williams.

The song also featured vocals from the “Runaway” emcee and Kardashian’s 11-year-old daughter, North.

The Skims co-founder, 44, then tried to get a judge to stop the song from being released because she didn’t want her daughter tied to Combs’ legal woes.

A source told Page Six, “Kim’s priority is the well-being and safety of her children and to protect them from being around Kanye’s controversial behavior.”

Despite Kardashian’s concerns, West released the track anyway.

The reality star is now reportedly considering changing her custody agreement with the hip-hop star.
