EXCLUSIVE: Prime Video Germany’s upcoming feature about the Elevator Boys has danced its way into production.
Cameras began rolling on Elevator Boys on March 4, with filming taking place in locations including the international production-friendly Malta.
The Elevator Boys movie, which was unveiled locally last month, will follow the German boy band, who consist of Bene Schulz, Jacob Rott, Julien Brown, Luis Freitag, and Tim Schaecker.
The band found fame after posting videos on TikTok, going on to sell out Wembley stadium with the launch of their first single ‘Runaway’ in 2023 and become fashion icons. The band recently signed with CAA.
Amazon says the film will combined “music and adventure in a unique story” and will launch on streamer Prime Video in 2026. Full casting details are being kept under wraps.

Per the synopsis: “Since childhood, five best friends – Matteo (Julien), Jonas (Tim), Chris (Luis), Ben (Jacob), and Oliver (Bene) – have dreamed of making it as a boy band. When a unique opportunity arises to take a step closer to their musical dream, one band member suddenly wants to quit, calling into question the future of the whole group. The five boys have to rise above themselves – and suddenly find themselves in a completely different decade. On their turbulent journey through time, they learn what true friendship means and what it really takes to be successful as a band.”
Dramatic films about boy bands variously pop up, with the unconventional Robbie Williams biopic Better Man and Take That-inspired Greatest Days two examples from recent years.
The Elevator Boys comes from W&B Television, the prolific German producer that’s part of the Mediawan Group-owned Leonine Studios, in association with Amazon MGM Studios Germany for Prime Video. It’s based on an initial idea and screenplay by Juliana Lima Dehne.
Facundo Scalerandi is the director. Producers are Johanna Bergel, Benjamin Benedict and Quirin Berg, and the executive producer is Ralf Zimmermann. Borris Kehl is director of photography, and Kaya Kürten leads costume design. Cora Pratz is in charge of set design and Kim Deguara is the make-up artist.
Germany is, of course, the home of Prime Video’s most successful international TV series, Maxton Hall – The World Between Us, which we earlier this month revealed would launch at the end of this year, delaying the wait for its fervored fanbase.
Prime Video’s other German originals include LOL: Last One Laughing, Fitzek’s The Therapy, The Griffon and LUDEN – Kings of the Reeperbahn.
