The No. 6 seed Mount St. Mary’s Mountaineers (21-12) and the No. 4 seed Iona Gaels (17-16) will meet in the final of the MAAC Championship on Saturday.

The first time these two programs met this year it came down to the wire with Iona pulling off a thrilling 70-67 win in overtime. Jedy Cordilia led all scorers with 21 points, but it was not enough for the Mountaineers as Dejour Reaves hit a buzzer-beating three pointer in overtime to secure the win for the Gaels.
Reaves leads Iona in scoring this season at 17.2 points per game and he has scored 51 points in two tournament games so far. Reaves will look to stay hot from distance as he has hit 7 of his 13 three-point attempts during MAAC Championship play. Yaphet Moundi will also play a big role down low and is coming off a 17-point, 11-rebound performance in the semifinals against Quinnipiac.
The Mountaineers spread the ball around with four different players averaging double digits in the scoring column this season. Dola Adebayo is the player to watch for Mount St. Mary’s. As a junior, he is averaging 13.1 points and 7.1 rebounds a night, and prior to a seven-point game in the semis, he had scored at least 16 points in four straight contests.
