Disney has finally dropped the trailer for the highly anticipated Freaky Friday sequel, Freakier Friday, and fans are pleasantly surprised.

Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis will reprise their iconic roles in this new installment, but that’s not the reason why fans are so “intrigued” by what the new film has to offer. No, the reason comes at the very end of the trailer when former heartthrob Chad Michael Murray shows us what it means to make a “sexy grand entrance.”

Fans on social media are rightfully freaking out to see Murray reprising his role as Jake, Lohan’s high school flame.

“This is the only reason I’m intrigued in Freakier Friday. The trailer lacked soul. But this man showed up at the end,” one fan wrote.

Others are melting over the fact that Murray isn’t the only heartthrob who will be in the Disney sequel. Manny Jacinto of The Good Place fame will be playing Lohan’s husband.

“MANNY JACINTO AND CHAD MICHAEL MURRAY IN ONE FILM,” another viewer wrote on X.

In Freakier Friday, Anna (Lohan) is a mother to her own teenage daughter and soon-to-be stepdaughter. But new challenges arise when Anna and Tess (Curtis) realize they’ve been body swapped again – except this time, they’ve swapped with Anna’s kids.

Many may remember Jake as the high school bad boy Tess disapproved of until she got to know him when she was in Anna’s place. What will it mean for Anna’s new relationship when she gets to see her high school sweetheart again?

The new film also stars Julia Butters, Mark Harmon, Rosalind Chao, and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan.

Freakier Friday premieres exclusively in theaters Aug. 8, 2025.

Scroll up to check out the Freakier Friday sequel.
