Another one of President Donald Trump‘s European golf courses has been vandalized, police have said.

Police are investigating criminal damage that occurred Wednesday at the Trump International Golf Links and Hotel in Doonbeg, Ireland (Trump Doonbeg).

The incident came days after the Trump Turnberry golf course in South Ayrshire, Scotland, was vandalized, which the activist group Palestine Action took credit for.

Why It Matters

The president faced international criticism for suggesting that the U.S. could “take over” Gaza and resettle about 2 million Palestinians as part of plans to rebuild it into the “Riviera of the Middle East.”

What to Know

Gardaí, Ireland’s police force, confirmed to Newsweek that they are investigating an incident of criminal damage at Trump Doonbeg.

Police did not reveal details of the damage, but images from the scene show that the resort’s green had been repeatedly dug up. Palestinian flags were also planted on the grounds, The Irish Times reported.

A spokesperson for Trump Doonbeg told Newsweek that the act was “childish” and assured it would not impact business.

The incident occurred on the same day that Ireland’s prime minister, Micheál Martin, met with Trump at the White House as part of celebrations ahead of St. Patrick’s Day.

Earlier this month, Trump’s Turnberry golf resort in Scotland was vandalized by pro-Palestinian activists.

The words “Gaza is not 4 sale” were painted across the resort’s lawn, and red paint was also daubed buildings and floors. A spokesperson for Palestine Action told Newsweek the group carried out the action in response to Trump’s plans “to destroy, ethnically cleanse, and ‘take over’ the Palestinian Gaza Strip.”

Palestine Action has not claimed responsibility for the damage at Trump’s Doonbeg golf course in Ireland.

Police in Scotland arrested a 33-year-old man on Wednesday in connection with the damage caused at Trump’s Turnberry golf course on March 8. He has since been released pending further investigation.

What People Are Saying

A Gardaí spokesperson told Newsweek: “Gardaí are investigating an incident of criminal damage that occurred at a commercial premises in West Clare on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward. In particular, they are appealing to anyone who was in the West Clare area between approximately 5 p.m. and midnight and may have video footage, including dashcam, to make this available to them.”

A Trump International Golf Links and Hotel spokesperson told Newsweek: “This was a childish, criminal act, but the incredible team at Trump Doonbeg will ensure it does not impact business. We have the greatest course anywhere in the world, and we are so proud of the tremendous success. We look forward to a great season ahead.”

Palestine Action posted on X, formerly Twitter: “An anonymous group targeted Trump’s Doonbeg golf course in Ireland. They dug up the greens and left Palestinian flags across the course. As we said: While Trump attempts to treat Gaza as his property, he should know his own property is within reach.”

What Happens Next

Police in Ireland and Scotland continue to investigate the incidents at Trump’s golf resorts.
