The Cleveland Browns have had an interesting offseason given their need for a quarterback.
Myles Garret requested a trade, but shockingly turned around and signed a huge extension not long after.
Beyond that, the Browns have mainly been involved in just rumors, with the latest one surrounding veteran quarterback Russell Wilson.
If the Browns were to sign a veteran QB, they may have the plan in mind to draft a young quarterback to sit behind the veteran they sign.
In this mock draft, they take a quarterback in an unconventional way, passing on Shedeur Sanders at pick No. 2, and instead trading up for another pick in the first round to No. 26 to select Jalen Milroe.

Milroe is a great athlete at the quarterback position but struggled a bit with turnovers and overall decision-making during his time with Alabama. The raw talent clearly exists though, so sitting behind a veteran would likely be ideal for the young QB in the NFL.
Wilson would serve as a solid mentor, given Wilson was also a bit raw and more reliant on athleticism rather than throwing ability when he first entered the league.
Wilson could help Milroe improve his throwing mechanics and ability to read NFL defenses and give the youngster plenty of time to grow from the bench.
Milroe being taken as the third quarterback off the board is interesting, as while he is in contention for that rank, Jaxon Dart seems to be more of the consensus QB3 in the draft.
Milroe is more raw than Dart, making him a more intriguing project, but also more likely to fall short of being a starter down the line in the NFL. Unless the Browns really believe in Kevin Stefanski’s ability to develop him as a QB, Milroe in the first round after a trade up seems a bit risky.
In this mock, the Browns also take Travis Hunter at pick No. 2, making both of their first-round picks huge swings. Hunter as a receiver could help out a young QB a lot, but he also may play more at cornerback. It all depends on what the Browns want out of him.
No matter what the current plan is for the Browns at quarterback, they need to do something better than an injured Deshaun Watson and Kenny Pickett.
