Adams will now be one of the premiere receivers on the team with the reports that Cooper Kupp is set to be traded. He will add a ton of veteran leadership alongside Puka Nacua.

Adams was a big cap cut for the Jets and saved a reported $29.5 million on the team’s cap. Due to his large contract, it was believed that many teams might not have had the capital ready to bring him in.
That clearly isn’t the case for the Rams, who have now landed the all-star receiver in arguably one of the biggest free agency moves that have been made thus far.
Adams and Rodgers were meant to elevate the Jets team, but that was not the case in 2024. New York ended the season with a paltry 5-12 record after many pundits and analysts believed they could be a dark horse Super Bowl candidate.
The Jets chose to fire head coach Robert Saleh after Week 5 and promoted Jeff Ulbrich to run the team. Despite a new head coach and presumed direction, the team failed to make an impact.
Former Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn was hired in the offseason and immediately made moves like cutting Aaron Rodgers. With Rodgers gone, the team then chose to also cut Adams.
Adams had an instinctual relationship with Rodgers and still churned out 1,063 yards and eight touchdowns despite the Jets’ struggles. With Rodgers needing a new team in 2025 and the New York Giants being a suitor, many believed that the star receiver would follow Rodgers yet again.
That is not the case, and the Rams just landed one of the best available receivers available.
Adams proved in 2024 that despite his age and the tumultuous season he spent with the Jets, he is still a dynamic and star pass catcher. Now, he will link up with Matthew Stafford.
Stafford was retained by the Rams on a restructured deal after there were teams like the Las Vegas Raiders high up on taking the quarterback once it was known he was being “shopped” around.
The Rams now have two star receivers in Nacua and Adams, and they can fully move forward with moving Kupp.
