EXCLUSIVE: Fresh from winning his third Oscar on Sunday, Danish producer Kim Magnusson has boarded short film Fire Lily.
Magnusson scooped his latest Academy Award for I’m Not a Robot, cementing his place as the most decorated producer in the Best Live Action Short Film category.
British filmmaker Phil Dunn’s Fire Lily begins by telling the story of the wrongful detainment of a dancer by a police officer. It then transforms into a surreal epiphany of poetry, music and dance, forcing them to confront their shared humanity and the unseen forces that shape them.
Nehemiah Spencer will star in the short. The production team also includes Emmy-winner Obadiah Baker (The Shadow Between Us), Joyce Allen, and Theresa Godly and Ashley Cole. Production will take place in Cleveland, Ohio, this fall.
