President Trump announced that the US has apprehended the âtop terroristâ responsible for the deadly bombing outside the Kabul airport during the Biden administrationâs chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan in August 2021.
âThree and a half years ago, ISIS terrorists killed 13 American service members and countless others in the Abbey Gate bombing,â Trump said during his speech to a joint session of Congress.
âTonight, I am pleased to announce that we have just apprehended the top terrorist responsible for that atrocity,â the president revealed. âAnd he is right now on his way here to face the swift sword of American justice.â
Trump thanked the government of Pakistan for assisting in apprehending the âmonsterâ and added that it was âa very momentous dayâ for Gold Star families affected by the attack.
