Ahead of the IRS auctioning off assets belonging to rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine, here are what bidders can buy, including luxury jewelry and other personal belongings, and how to bid.
Newsweek has reached out to Market Auctions via email for comment.
The Context
Several high-dollar items from Tekashi 6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, are up for sale by Florida-based firm Market Auctions, a company commissioned by the IRS, after the government seized them in an April 2024 raid on his Lake Worth, Florida, home because of unpaid taxes.
IRS auctions allow the federal government to recover unpaid taxes by selling off assets seized from individuals and businesses. While such sales commonly involve real estate, vehicles and business equipment, high-profile events involving celebrity assets tend to attract significant public interest.
Tekashi 6ix9ine, 28, gained fame for his distinctive style and also his legal issues. Despite his success in the music industry, financial and legal challenges have followed him in recent years, culminating in the current auction of his assets.

Why are Tekashi 6ix9ine’s Belongings Being Auctioned Off?
The auction stems from the IRS seizing assets from Tekashi 6ix9ine due to outstanding tax liabilities. The rapper’s financial troubles led to the forced liquidation of some of his high-value possessions. The IRS commonly conducts such auctions when individuals fail to resolve tax debts, using proceeds from the sales to cover outstanding balances.
What People Are Saying
The high-profile nature of the auction has sparked conversations online, with some fans questioning whether Tekashi 6ix9ine will attempt to reclaim his belongings. A number of social media users shared images and videos of the items being auctioned off.
The No Jumper podcast on X, formerly Twitter, earlier this month: “The IRS will auction off most of Tekashi 6ix9ine’s jewelry, music plaques, and designer bags in March.”
Where is Tekashi 6ix9ine Now?
Hot New Hip-Hop first reported that 6ix9ine was released from prison on December 12 after having to serve time for violating the terms of his parole.
The parole 6ix9ine was convicted of violating stems from his implication in the RICO case against the Nine Trey Bloods gang in which he was sentenced to two years in prison in 2020. He will now have a probation extension of one year and a homestay order with electronic monitoring.
This comes after the rapper has also had numerous brushes with the law over the years, dating back to 2015 when he pleaded guilty to charges related to a child sex video for which he received four years probation, according to Rolling Stone.
Other incidents since then include numerous assault charges and being sued in 2021 by a woman who alleged he threw a bottle of champagne at her while she danced at a Miami strip club. In 2023, after the musician reportedly failed to appear in court, a jury in the civil trial awarded the complainant nearly $10 million in damages.
