Maison Margiela and Gentle Monster are back with their biggest collaboration yet. Marking the French fashion house and the Korean eyewear brand’s third link-up, this latest collection features a total of 20 eyewear designs: eight sunglasses and 12 optical frames.
The line builds on the duo’s first and second partnerships, which included 11 and 17 pieces, respectively, with a lineup that blends cybercore aesthetics with metallic materials, cable temples, and, of course, Margiela’s signature white stitches motif. Distinguished by avant-garde end tip designs, the line’s statement shades will be available in silver and green metallic finishes, as well as classic hues of black, gray, navy, ivory, red and tortoiseshell.
To ring in their third team-up, Margiela and Gentle Monster will open special pop-up spaces in seven cities across the world. The temporary shops will house “cybercore-inspired abstract human forms, raw patterns, and sheer materials in harmonious balance,” with a spatial design inspired by the eyewear’s cable temple detailing. At the time of writing, the brands have not disclosed which cities will host these pop-ups.
Maison Margiela and Gentle Monster’s third collaboration will launch online via Gentle Monster and authorized retailers such as HBX on March 5 before arriving in stores on March 6. Take a look at the lineup in the gallery above.
