The Philadelphia 76ers have seen a season of nightmares take place following a strong offseason. The 76ers have dealt with all sorts of injuries consistently throughout the year and it has completely derailed them in the standings.
The team will be taking on the Chicago Bulls today and they once again have a long injury report. Star center Joel Embiid has landed on the injury report and he was listed as questionable for the game.
Embiid has been dealing with an issue with his knee and it has caused him to miss multiple games this year. Embiid has been ruled out as the team continues to determine the next steps.

News came out recently that Embiid was consulting with doctors and considering different options to deal with the issue. Surgery is currently on the table for the star big man according to NBA insider Shams Charania of ESPN.
There was some hope that Embiid had put the issues behind him but the knee has continued to cause problems. The hope is that surgery won’t be necessary but the 76ers need Embiid to get back to being healthy.

Embiid has been limited to just 19 games this season and his stats have all dropped due to the injuries. For the year, Embiid has averaged 23.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 0.9 blocks per game.
The 76ers as a whole have dealt with all sorts of injuries, with Embiid being the most prevalent. Philadelphia has struggled without the former MVP on the court, with co-star Paul George having the worst statistical year of his career since his second season.
The 76ers are hoping for the best with Embiid but based on his injury history, it may be tough to see something changing for this year. With the 76ers’ place in the standings, Philadelphia may elect to be cautious with their star and sit him for the remainder of the year.
Philadelphia currently holds a record of 20-26 for the year, sitting in the No. 12 spot within the Eastern Conference standings. The 76ers have lost seven straight games entering this contest with the Bulls tonight.
