Update: Samsung has announced that the new Galaxy S25 Series is available at retailers worldwide now, as well as online through its website.

Original story: Samsung has set itself up for a busy year and, like clockwork, chose January for one of its biggest reveals, announcing its new Galaxy S25 series of flagship smartphones at its Unpacked event in San Jose, California today.

Introducing its latest Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 models, the brand is touting the all-new trio of AI-powered Android devices as fuelling “a fundamental shift in how you interact with the world.” As with most technology brands in 2025, AI is a huge focus for Samsung and its new Galaxy S25 series builds on the best features found in last year’s range – many of which were powered by its Galaxy AI technology.

At the heart of the new phones is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform for Galaxy, a customized version of the most powerful chipset currently available for Android, one that has been specially made for Galaxy thanks to Samsung’s long-term relationship with chipmaker Qualcomm. This optimized hardware is said to work seamlessly with Samsung’s own AI Galaxy software to give the Galaxy 25 series “greater on-device processing power.” Further performance power derived from Snapdragon chipset is realized in photo and video, with its neural processing unit (NPU) powering Samsung’s ProVisual Engine.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra features a 6.9-inch QHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It has five cameras (four rear and one front), including a 50MP ultra-wide camera , 200MP wide camera , dual telephoto cameras in the form of a 50MP with 5x optical zoom and a 10MP with 3x optical zoom, and a 12MP front camera. This model can be configured with up to 1TB of memory and features 12GB of RAM as standard.

Both the Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 feature four cameras in total, including a 10MP ultra-wide camera , 50MP wide camera , 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and a 12MP front camera. The Galaxy S25+ has a 6.7-inch QHD+ display while the Galaxy S25 has a slightly smaller 6.2-inch FHD+ screen. Both phones come with 12GB of RAM and a maximum 512GB of internal storage, but the Galaxy S25 can be configured with the lower 128GB storage size as well as 256GB.

Samsung is also introducing multimodal AI agents in all three new phones announced today, making the S25 series Samsung’s most capable products when it comes to AI (multimodal AI agents can process different types of data, differing from those that can only analyse singular types).

It’s also interesting to note that Samsung seems to be trying to steer away from pigeonholing its new devices into the phone-shaped box that would be the most obvious choice for everyone else, using language that is less smartphone and more smart helpful friend to describe its new products. (You know where this is going, right?) In its press release, the brand states that the Galaxy S25 series “sets the standard of AI phone as a true AI companion,” and describes its freshly announced trio as featuring “the most natural and context-aware mobile experiences ever created.”

The South Korean brand’s Galaxy smartphones are widely considered to be the gold standard when it comes to Android devices, and, on paper at least, today’s newly announced models make a strong case for that assertion. They comes with Android 15 pre-installed and Samsung is committing to “seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates.”

Pre-orders for the new Samsung Galaxy S25 series start today at select retailers and becoming more widely available by February 7. Pricing varies between models, with Galaxy S25 Ultra starting at £1,249 GBP / $1,299 USD, Galaxy S25+ starting at £999 GBP / $999 USD and Galaxy S25+ starting at £799 GBP / $799 USD.

In terms of color options, Galaxy S25 Ultra comes in “Titanium Silverblue”, “Titanium Black”, “Titanium Whitesilver” and “Titanium Grey”, with both Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ arriving in “Silver Shadow”, “Navy”, “Icy Blue” and “Mint”.
