Is ‘Supernatural’ Leaving Netflix? Why The Beloved Series May Be Removed From The Streamer

Dean and Sam Winchester’s days on Netflix may be numbered.

It looks like Supernatural could be following in the footsteps of several The CW series. There’s been some speculation that the hit fantasy series will be the next casualty lost after The CW did not renew its output deal with Netflix in 2019, per Deadline.

Without this deal, many series that have been streaming on Netflix for years have ended up on the chopping block, much to the dismay of fans everywhere. And there is reason to believe that Supernatural is next.

According to Deadline’s report, Netflix’s agreement with The CW included streaming a new season eight days after the finale aired on The CW. The licensing agreement also gave Netflix exclusive streaming rights for the series for approximately five years after the finale aired, as was the case with Jane The Virgin, which was removed from Netflix’s library in September 2024, as well as Reign and The Vampire Diaries, which were removed in September 2022.

It looks like everyone’s favorite supernatural brothers will have to find a new home.

Are they taking Supernatural off Netflix?

Since the Supernatural series finale aired in November 2020, it’s likely that the hit CW series will be removed from Netflix later this year.

What’s On Netflix estimates the series will be removed on Dec. 18 alongside Arrow and The 100. All 15 seasons of the series would hypothetically be removed.

Though series star Jared Padalecki has teased that he and Jensen Ackles were willing to revive the series in 2025 — which would likely reset the clock on Netflix’s streaming rights for the show — it looks like Supernatural will ultimately have to find a new streaming library to land on later this year.

Where can I stream Supernatural?

There’s no need to worry just yet! Supernatural can still be streamed on Netflix. A confirmed removal date has not yet been announced, so fans who want to tune into the hit CW series still have some time to enjoy the series before it finds a new streaming home.

Seasons 1 through 11 of Supernatural are also available to purchase on Prime Video.
