Which Love Is Blind season 8 couples are still together?
Well, we’ll have to wait several weeks before we learn for sure which couples not only said “I do” at the reality TV alter, but stayed together long enough to make it to the reunion episode. However, statistically speaking, there’s bound to be at least one couple who can look the Lacheys right in the eyes when they say, “Love really is blind.” For now, only episodes 1-6 of Netflix’s ratings juggernaut have been released on the streaming platform.
Minor spoiler: At the end of our 32 singles’ time in the pods, five couples got engaged. We’ll find out how those couples fared on their first trip away together in Honduras on February 21, when Netflix drops the next batch of episodes. Until then, here’s what we know about our Love Is Blind season 8 couples.
Daniel & Taylor
In the pods: Within seconds of meeting each other in the pods, Daniel was on one knee, jokingly proposing to Taylor. But the bit came full circle when, after bonding over their shared faith and diehard Christmas spirit, Daniel proposed for real. The self-proclaimed short king finally found his queen.
However, though they had a relatively tame time in the pods and an awkward (but still cute) meeting face-to-face, things took a turn: Taylor told producers of the show that she believed Daniel had previously followed, and then unfollowed, her on Instagram. She says she recalls a man with a Christmas photo following her on the platform, adding, “I think it’s the Christmas thing that’s tying it all in.”
Taylor then confronts Daniel. “I hope that you can see how that, in my brain, is like, freaking me out,” she says. “You may have put the pieces together when we were in the pods, and all of the things that we talked about are all on my Instagram as well.”
Will they ever get to the bottom of follow/unfollow gate? We’ll find out when Netflix drops episodes 7-9.
David & Lauren
In the pods: Dave and Lauren were enmeshed in one of the two love triangles that emerged on season 8.
Dave’s opening line—“What’s wrong with you?”—might have been a turn off to many women in the pods (and also me), but he still fell for both Lauren, a former teacher, and Molly, an executive assistant. He characterized Lauren as the kindest woman he’d ever met, but claimed to have more in common with Molly, who, like Dave, had done a lot of growing up in the past few years.
Outside of the pods, in the women’s lounge, Molly spoke loudly and openly about her relationship with Dave, telling her fellow castmates that she believed he was going to break it off with his other match. This upset Lauren, who returned to the pods and declared her feelings for Dave.
In the end, Dave proposed to Lauren, who accepted. Molly and Lauren had a happy ending as well, with Molly tearfully apologizing to Lauren for her braggadocious behavior and claiming she had no idea that Lauren was the other woman in the love triangle.
Devin & Virginia
In the pods: Devin and Virginia were an initially surprising match. Though they both attended the same high school, they had no overlap because Virginia is five years older than Devin, a fact which he brought up repeatedly, although, jokingly.
Though they had chemistry, many of the single guys believed that Devin was a perfect match for Brittany, who, like him, was also a basketball coach. But the obvious choice isn’t always the right choice; in the end, Devin and Brittany decided to leave the show as friends.
After Virginia painted a picture for Devin of him coaching varsity basketball at the school they both graduated from while she worked the snack bar with their kids, he was sold. Devin proposed to Virginia, and she accepted.
Ben & Sara
In the pods: Sara and Ben’s central conflict centered around Sara’s firm belief in the Black Lives Matter movement, which Ben claimed to be mostly ignorant of. Sara was also concerned about Ben’s faith, telling him that she is incredibly close with her sister, who is gay. She worried that Ben’s religion would be intolerant of the LGBTQ+ community, which was a dealbreaker for her.
After these initial hiccups—and lots of promises from Ben to “educate” himself— the two decided to move forward with their relationship. Ben proposed, and Sara accepted.
Joey & Monica
In the pods: Monica and Joey, a self-described Golden Retriever boyfriend, had silliest relationship of all of the couples in the pods. They weren’t afraid to be goofy, dancing together (yes, through a wall) and making each other laugh. They were drama-free, if a little boring—though the most successful couples tend to be!
They were the first couple to get engaged on the show; so far, their future looks bright.
Love Is Blind season 8, episodes 1-6, are now streaming on Netflix. Episodes 7-9 premiere on February 21. This post will be updated.
