A pair of money-hungry bandits chased down a man’s car, smashed his passenger-side window with a rock and grabbed a bag holding $20,000 from inside in a broad-daylight Brooklyn heist, police said.
The 70-year-old victim was driving in Cobble Hill around 12:15 p.m. Jan. 31 when the two brutes approached and punched his window, trying to break it, authorities said.
The senior drove off, but the duo followed in their Mercedes-Benz SUV, pulling in front of him on Court Street near Degraw Street, according to cops.
There, they allegedly tossed a rock through the passenger’s side window of the victim’s car and reached inside, grabbing the bag holding the hefty stash of cash, police said.
Then the rock-hurling robbers got back inside their black Mercedes and took off, cops said.
Video released by the NYPD Thursday night shows the pair getting out of their SUV and tugging on the doors of the elderly man’s car before getting back into their own ride and taking off.
Anyone with information on the still-at-large thieves is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
