The American Dream is a key theme for YOSSI CORP. Yossi Shetrit‘s New York City-based brand draws heavy inspiration from nostalgia and Americana. In the designer’s Fall/Winter 2025 collection – entitled “Home of the Disturbed & The Brave” – Shetrit continues to dive into the contrasts within the concept, specifically exploring how it shapes our individual identities.
A collection that “focuses on the interplay of triumph and tragedy within the pursuit,” Home of the Disturbed & The Brace is a homage to what Shetrit refers to as the “Hedonistic Generation” – a term that appears throughout the apparel range. Tapping into the interplay of hedonism and morality, the designer’s latest delivery extrapolates this contrast across a lineup of both menswear and womenswear.
Home of the Disturbed & Brave is a holistic encapsulation of what YOSSI CORP stands for, something Shetrit shared more about in his Hypebeast Community Center Interview last year. “The brand is deeply rooted in the introspection of subcultures and how they shape the pursuit of the “American way of life,” aiming to dive deeper into both its triumphs and tragedies,” he explained, drawing inspiration particularly from themes of rebellion and refinement and juxtaposing the two. Edgy graphics are compiled alongside tailored jacketing, all offset by a white dress adorned with “Hedonistic Generation.”
However, Shetrit clarifies, it’s not about recreating the past; rather, it’s about recontextualizing it. “Nostalgia plays a huge part in my design process. I’m constantly pulling from my own memories, from the things that shaped me growing up. But it’s not about replicating the past — it’s about reinterpreting those influences in a way that feels modern.”
