After opening a new Eau de Parfum chapter with “Virēre” last summer, Aēsop has returned with a new fragrance offering: “Aurner.”

Created with Aēsop’s long-term collaborator Céline Barel “Aurner” marks the brand’s twelfth addition to its ever-growing Eau de Parfum collection. Its scent, described as “a defiant bloom,” subverts the common expectations for a floral fragrance and creates a distinct olfactory experience that amalgamates strength with tenderness.

Formulated with magnolia leaf, Roman chamomile and cedar heart, the new fragrance presents a nuanced, tea-like and unorthodox aroma. It begins with bright citrus notes reinforced by fresh spice notes from cardamom and pink Pepper, while Roman chamomile completes the note in a sweet, herbaceous embrace.

As the note fades, the fragrance reveals its floral core, where magnolia leaf’s mellifluous scent entwines with fresh geranium in a passionate dance, against a backdrop of cardamom in wooded depths. The fragrance is grounded by a richly textured woody base of sandalwood, cypriol heart and cedar heart, anchoring its intensity.

“Aurner” derives its name from an Old Norse verb, meaning “to be adorned and to be embellished with flowers”— reflecting how the fragrance enrobes the skin and emboldens the wearer. This concept was further manifested in a collaboration with Bangkok-based fine jewelry designer Patcharavipa Bodiratnangkura, who created a delicate yet unyielding piece that embodies the emotive tensions within the aroma.

Launching on February 24, the new fragrance will be available via Aēsop with a price tag of $1,500 HKD (approx. $193 USD). Patcharavipa Bodiratnangkura’s specially crafted ear cuff for “Aurner” will also be purchasable for $3,000 HKD (approx. $385 USD) exclusively at Aēsop’s ifc Mall and Harbour City locations in Hong Kong.
