Winning Best Comedy Series at the Critics Choice tonight, Hacks co-creator and star Paul W. Downs told the tent at the Santa Monica Barker Hanger that “we need to ask to shoot our shows in L.A.”.
“The people in the room have the power to make it happen,” he said.
The Max series is largely shot in Las Vegas, NV, as the series takes place there but it also films in Los Angeles. One of Hacks‘ main LA locations, Deborah Vance’s (Jean Smart) “side mansion,” which has been featured on the show since Season 2, burned down in the Altadena fire.
Shrinking star and music supervisor Christa Miller also said on social recently that season 3 of the AppleTV+ series will continue production in Pasadena and Altadena, where it has always been shot. For Miller, it was important that the production stay in Altadena which was devastated by the Eaton wildfire.
