Tomorrow is Friday, which means we’re just one day closer to an all-new episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 17! Last week’s episode of the hit MTV series featured a hilarious new edition of RDR Live—which showed off the queens’ comedic chops—along with a “Pretty in Pink” runway competition. Lydia B. Collins and Arrietty were forced to lip sync for their lives after ending up in the bottom two. While Collins sashayed to victory, Arrietty was spared from elimination by pulling the final lever for the Badonka Dunk Save.
Can’t wait to see what drama this event causes in the werk room? No worries! We have the exclusive first look at this week’s episode. The clip picks up with Collins and Arrietty leading the queens off the main stage. The group is thrilled—maybe more than they should be—that the beloved Arrietty is still in the competition. “I have a second chance,” Arrietty says in her confessional. “And I can’t not mess this one up!”
As the queens celebrate Arrietty’s use of her “angel number” to pull off a save, Collins fumes in the corner. “I am relieved the queens won’t hate me, but girl, I’m not going to lie, I was so proud when I thought I had sent her home,” reveals Collins in her confessional. Now with the final Badonka Dunk Save over and done with, Jewel Sparkles points out to her fellow Queens that there are “no more second chances.” This is music to Kori King’s ears because she’s ready to “knock off some competition.”
With her second win under her belt, Suzie Toots playfully brushes off the haters who are coming for her “fabulous clown runway” outfit. Undeterred, Lexi Love calls Toots’ fashion sense and style “questionable.” Before the queens know it, it’s time for them to take off their makeup and prepare for the next day of the competition.
In the werk room the following morning, Sparkles points out to her fellow queens that “from now on, someone’s going home every single week.” “Or even two people,” chimes in Hormona Lisa, speculating that there could be a double elimination on the horizon. When Sparkles asks Lisa to use her psychic abilities to see who will go home next, Lisa coyly looks at Sam Star and says, “I’ll miss you, Sam.” As the queens scream, the camera cuts to Star’s confessional. “What the fuck?” asks Star incredulously.
RuPaul then enters the werk room for the mini-challenge. As the queens get into quick drag and “kneepads,” RuPaul brings out Anastasia Beverly Hills president Norvina to help announce the assignment. “For today’s mini-challenge, in two teams, you need to transport a collection of Anastasia Beverly Hills lipsticks from one side of the glory hole to the other.” As the queens giggle with excitement, Norvina throws them a curve. “Here’s the catch…you can only use your mouths.” “Story of my laugh,” jokes RuPaul.
What follows is a hilarious montage of the “Team Orange” and “Team Pink” queens crawling on their knees back and forth between their assigned glory holes with pussycat wigs on their heads, and lipsticks in their mouths. After a gripping competition, Team Orange wins, earning each of the queens $500 dollars . Not bad for a days’ work!
Afterwards, RuPaul announces this week’s maxi-challenge—the “Let’s Get Sea-Sickening” Ball, where each of the categories will require the queens to take inspiration from the “deep blue sea.” Tune in this Friday at 8PM ET on MTV to find out what happens next!
