EXCLUSIVE: Archstone Entertainment has acquired world rights to Operation Taco Gary’s starring Simon Rex (Red Rocket) and Brenda Song (The Last Showgirl) and will launch sales at this year’s EFM.

The sci-fi comedy is written and directed by Mikey K. The film’s cast also features Dustin Milligan (Schitt’s Creek), Jason Biggs (American Pie franchise), Doug Jones (Nosferatu, The Shape of Water), Arturo Castro (Broad City, Narcos), and Tony Cavalero (Righteous Gemstones, The Conners).

The film debuted at the Austin Film Festival. The story follows conspiracy theorist Danny (Rex) and his skeptical brother Luke (Milligan) as they set out on a cross-country road trip and uncover a global plot that leads them to unassuming fast food chain Taco Gary’s — only to discover it’s the secret base of operations for an alien race intent on taking over the planet. While Luke grapples with the realization that his brother was actually right about everything, Danny convinces him that only together can they save Earth from total annihilation and smug Hollywood celebrities.

The film is produced by Matthew Vaughan and Rotten Science, with executive producers Jimmy Miller and M. Riley for Mosaic, Brian David Cange, Simon Rex, and Dustin Milligan, with Scott Martin, Michael Slifkin, and Jack Sheehan for Archstone.

“We’re beyond excited and deeply grateful to welcome Archstone aboard Operation Taco Gary’s,” Director Mikey K. said. “Their support brings us one step closer to sharing this wild, sober acid trip of a movie with the world.”
