Last month, Meghan Markle postponed her new Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, to focus on relief efforts following the outbreak of destructive wildfires across Los Angeles. Soon after the announcement, the duchess and her husband, Prince Harry, visited with—and donated to—a group of teenage girls in Altadena who were fundraising to support their community, where homes and schools were destroyed. On Tuesday, Meghan posted a reel to her Instagram account where she revealed an additional, emotional donation to one of the Altadena girls in partnership with pop star Billie Eilish.
Meghan explained that one of the girls she met lost a t-shirt she got at a recent Eilish concert when her home was destroyed. “All she’d been looking for in her home was the T-shirt from the Billie Eilish concert that she had just gone to,” the duchess said. “Of course they now see their home and the washing machine, their dryer, are ash. They’re not there anymore.”

Meghan goes on to tell the story of how she got in touch with Eilish. “So I said, ‘I don’t know Billie Eilish. But I’m going to figure out how to get you this shirt,’” she said. “So I thought of everybody that I knew and I made a voice note and I was like, ‘Please, can someone get this voice note to Billie Eilish? Here’s what I’m asking.’”
Eventually, with the help of Adam Levine and his wife, Behati Prinsloo, the singer came through, donating a signed vinyl copy of her 2024 album Hit Me Hard and Soft, a few t-shirts, and a lunchbox. “You guys, I don’t even know what all this stuff means but it’s signed for her,” the duchess said, joking that this made her feel “really old.”
In the video, Meghan wore a Club Chainstitch sweatshirt emblazoned with the names of her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. In the caption of the short video, posted to the Instagram account Meghan started on January 1 of this year, she urged her followers to keep supporting the victims of the LA fires. “Let’s keep supporting those affected by the California wildfires,” she said. “Thanks to everyone who made this possible but most importantly, thank you to our first responders who are the community’s real heroes.”
