Lady Gaga won at the 2025 Grammy Awards and took the opportunity to express her support for the LGBTQIA+ community.

The singer took the stage at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles alongside Bruno Mars after winning in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category for their song “Die with a Smile.”

“Trans people are not invisible,” she said. “Trans people deserve love. The queer community deserves to be lifted up.”

Lady Gaga has been one of the most vocal allies of the queer community throughout her career. The singer’s message comes as the trans community has come under attack since the Donald Trump administration took over.

Trump recently signed an executive order titled “Prioritizing Military Excellence and Readiness that restricts transgender military service. The order reinstates a policy from Trump’s first term that Joe Biden rescinded in 2021, which allowed trans people to enlist in the military and serve openly.

In his first week as president, Trump also rolled back diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility initiatives, which gave marginalized groups opportunities that they wouldn’t otherwise.

The Trump administration also recently removed transgender references from the federal government websites.

Fellow singer and LGBTQIA+ ally Madonna recently took to social media to call out Trump too, saying on X, “It’s so sad to watch our new Government slowly dismantling all the Freedoms we have been fighting for and WON over the years. Don’t give up the Fight!”
