EXCLUSIVE: Octavio Pisano (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) has wrapped production on his feature directorial debut, Wet Under Blue Sky, a boxing drama for which he wrote the script, in which he also stars.
The film follows a fading boxing champion (Pisano) who fights to hold onto his legacy, his family, and his sanity — until the hardest punch comes from within.
Pisano exec produced under his production company Earthside Entertainment, along with Gavin O’Connor (The Accountant), Evan Wolf Buxbaum, and Joanna Naugle (The Bear), who’s also serving as the film’s editor. Carissa Stewart produced the pic, shot between New York and New Jersey. It’s expected to make the rounds on the festival circuit this season.
Pisano is best known for his starring role as Detective Joe Velasco in NBC’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, which in the midst of its 26th season, is the longest-running primetime drama series of all time. For the actor-turned-director, Wet Under Blue Sky comes on the heels of the short film El Campo, which screened at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival’s Pavillon Afriques, the Rhode Island Flickerfest Film Festival, the London Director Awards, the Hollywood Short Festival, the Berlin Shorts Awards and the New York Latino Film Festival.
Watch on Deadline
Pisano is repped by CAA, GSA Entertainment, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
