Kelly Ripa‘s got the right idea when it comes to finding the ideal suitor.
Ripa addressed the state of the modern-day dating scene on today’s Live with Kelly and Mark, reading that “finance bros are out like yesterday’s news” and those looking for a partner are seemingly more interested “people in the medical field.”
“Specifically doctors,” she added with a chuckle. “If I were on the market, I would go for the orderly. And here’s why you date an orderly. An orderly is really going to take care you of when it hits the fan. You know what I mean?”
After Mark Consuelos expressed some confusion toward his wife and co-host’s explanation, Ripa noted that “sometimes the orderly has to clean up things.”
“Sometimes the orderly has to take care of a lot of stuff that nobody else wants to take care of,” she continued. “That’s like who you want. You want the orderly.”
Consuelos echoed, “I’m going to need that.”
Ripa replied, “Well, I’m your personal orderly.”
She eventually was hit with another idea, naming “plastic surgeons” as a desirable career for a partner.
“The older I get, the more essential, like, plastic surgeons are essential workers,” she added.
Consuelos asked, “Dermatologist or plastic surgeon?”
However, Ripa claimed “both,” teasing that she “would like a plastic surgeon major with a dermatology minor.”
“Those are always the nicest houses in the Hamptons, by the way,” she quipped. “Who lives there? Plastic surgeon. Across the street from the finance bro.”
