The Minnesota Timberwolves are taking on the Atlanta Hawks, and the game was moving along in normal fashion. However, things got a bit dicey when Timberwolves star Rudy Gobert was shocked when he was almost struck by an object that fell off the jumbotron.

During the moment between a whistle, an object fell from he jumbotron. It was revealed to be one of the horns that is usually attached to most jumbotrons.
Gobert was a mere feet from the item that fell, which could have done some damage had it struck him.
Thankfully, the object did not strike Gobert or any other player in the vicinity. At the time of this writing, the score is currently 60-48 at halftime.
Gobert already has 19 minutes in the game, going 4-for-6 on field goal attempts, 10 points, 2-for-2 free throws, five rebounds, and two blocks. Had he been lost to injury due to the falling item, the Timberwolves would have lost a quality player.
Through the season, Gobert is averaging 10.2 points per game, 10.3 rebounds per game, 1.8 assists per game, and a 64.5 field goal percentage.
The Timberwolves have a current record of 24-21 and are third in the Northwest division of the Western Conference.
If the season were to end today, the Timberwolves would be involved in the play-in tournament to make the playoffs.
For now, they are chasing the sixth place Los Angeles Clippers, who currently have a 26-19 record. Minnesota is only a couple of wins away from capturing sixth place in the Western Conference.
The Timberwolves have been a bit up and down this season. After back-to-back losses to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Memphis Grizzlies, they followed that up with back-to-back wins against the Dallas Mavericks and Denver Nuggets.
A win against the Hawks on Monday would lead to a three-game win streak, which they have not accomplished since early January with three straight wins against the Clippers, New Orleans Pelicans, and Orlando Magic.
For Gobert, he avoided some serious damage from the horn that fell from the jumbotron. The hope is that nothing else will fall from the jumbotron or anywhere that high up at all.
The Target Center is likely going to address the issue when the game ends, ensuring that no one else will be close to getting injured by a falling object.
