Terrace Martin took to X to reveal that he has unearthed a nearly two-decades-old hard drive filled with collaborations from a myriad of artists, including the likes of Kendrick Lamar and Quincy Jones.

The artist shared that the recovered hard drive dates back to 17 years ago and contains “many ideas and demos” from the artists he’s collaborated with in the past. “[I]t’s interesting to hear where i was at musically 17 years ago along side with friends like James Fauntleroy, Kendrick Lamar, Beastie Boys, Quincy Jones & so many more,” Martin wrote. “I can tell by the texture of the music that I was completely confident yet completely uncomfortable.”

He then asked, “Would you like to hear any of this stuff?”

On top of being an accomplished solo artist, Martin’s lengthy discography includes significant contributions to the likes of Dot’s To Pimp a Butterfly, untitled unmastered and Section.80 and the late Jones’ Time Decorated. He did not specify when these demos and ideas were created, but fans are evidently excited at the prospect of listening to his time capsule.

I just recently got a hard drive recovered from 17 years ago . It’s so many ideas and demos from some of my favorite artist I have worked with .
