Earlier today, Hiroshi Fujiwara posted photos of a grayscale RX-78 Gunpla model on his Instagram, offering the first look at fragment design’s upcoming collaboration with Gundam. As shown on the model’s left shoulder, the product code for this special variant is RX78FRGMT. Its left chest area also features fragment’s lightning bolt motifs to signify its exclusive status.
Fujiwara first teased fragment design’s collaboration with Gundam in an unexpected Instagram post in December 2024. The announcement featured a new graphic visual, where fragment’s iconic lighting motifs join Gundam’s hallmarked “G” logo.
Aside from the RX-78 Gunpla, the collaboration is said to include an array of collaborative items such as apparel and accessories. At the time of writing, no additional information has been unveiled regarding the collaboration’s launch dates. But it’s likely that the Gunpla will be available at the upcoming “GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE -FINAL-” events in Tokyo and Osaka, which will take place in February and April respectively.
