The Houston Texans are attempting to take down the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round of the 2024 Playoffs. The issue is the Texans will be playing the rest of the game without C.J. Stroud.

Stroud had to be helped off the field after taking his eighth sack of the Divisional Game.
Stroud has been under duress the entire game, as the Chiefs’ defense has been all over the Texans the entire time. The young quarterback suffered an ankle injury early on after he was rolled on during a sack.
Following the sack, it was revealed on the telecast that Stroud had to undergo some treatment, including a heated pad of some sort to help the apparent leg injury. He was seen limping off to the sideline in the waning moments of the second quarter.
The hits did not stop there, as Stroud was hit again on his leg/knee during a nice run. Again, he was shown limping off to the sideline but appeared to be able to continue.
The Chiefs’ defense was just too much for this Texans offensive line, as Stroud suffered eight sacks throughout the entire Divisional Playoff showdown.
Stroud was able to step back on the field to finish the game, but the Texans team chose to only allow him back into the game to knee the ball. With only a few seconds left, there is no sense in risking any further injury to their franchise quarterback.
At the time of this writing, the game has thus concluded, with the Chiefs handily beating the Chiefs 23-14. Kansas City knew what gameplan would work, which was to get after Stroud and rattle him throughout the entire game.
That game plan worked, as the Chiefs cruised to another AFC Championship game. They now await the winner of the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens.
Patrick Mahomes and company have proven time again just how good they are in the playoffs. The Chiefs are now going to their seventh consecutive AFC Championship game.
Though there is no guarantee, the Chiefs are attempting to return to the Super Bowl to become the first-ever team to three-peat. No NFL team in history has been able to win three consecutive championships in a row, and Kansas City could be the team to do that.
For now, the Texans will head home after losing in back-to-back Divisional Playoff Rounds. Hopefully, Stroud did not suffer any sort of long-term injury.
