Look at me, I’m Sandra Lee!
The TV chef caused quite the scene at Eataly NYC Downtown late Thursday afternoon, two eyewitnesses tell Page Six exclusively.
We’re told Lee — who dated former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo for 14 years — appeared frazzled and out of sorts as she shopped solo.
The cashier who rang up Lee’s items accidentally hit void, so the woman had to start over, which “sent Sandra into a frenzy,” our witnesses claim.
Lee allegedly got “pushy” and “aggressive,” screaming that she was “very important” and “in a hurry.”
“Do you know who I am? I’m Andrew Cuomo’s EX-WIFE!” we’re told she shouted before she “tore her sunglasses off” and added, “Girl, I’m Sandra Lee!” (Notably, Lee and Cuomo were never married.)
However, Lee’s attorney vehemently denies the alleged incident to Page Six, insisting it “never took place” and that “in no world” is Lee “ever referencing that she was married to the disgraced governor.”
The Daytime Emmy winner “wanted everyone to know who she was,” our spies say, describing her as “self-important.”
We’re told about “20 people” saw and heard the commotion and that Lee, 58, “spent more time demanding to speak to a manager than it took for the cashier to re-ring up the items.”
During her eventual conversation with a manager, a “sweaty” Lee allegedly “raised her arms” and “went crazy” as she aired her grievances.
Our witnesses note that the cookbook author “eventually apologized” to one employee, explaining that she was “very sorry” and had just flown in from Los Angeles, where her “house almost burned down” in the ongoing wildfires.
Lee and Cuomo, 67, announced their split in September 2019. She is now engaged to actor Ben Youcef.
