Subaru has revealed its latest high-performance creation, the STI S210 prototype, showcasing cutting-edge engineering inspired by its Nürburgring 24-Hour Race exploits. Unveiled at the 2025 Tokyo Auto Salon, the S210 combines race-proven technology with driver-focused enhancements, designed to provide exciting maneuverability and power.
The S210’s core is its FA24 2.4L turbocharged flat-four engine, producing 300 hp. Advanced intake and exhaust systems, including a newly designed air cleaner and a low-pressure muffler with cannonball-shaped chambers, optimize performance. A specially tuned ECU ensures seamless torque delivery, aimed at providing confidence and control across driving scenarios.
Marking a first for the S-series, the Subaru Performance Transmission complements the engine’s output, offering precision gearshifts and heightened driver engagement. The suspension setup includes Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, STI-tuned coil springs and Brembo brakes with six-pot front calipers.
Aerodynamic refinements, like an STI Dry Carbon Rear Spoiler and side garnishes, enhance stability and high-speed performance. The interior offers driver-centric luxury, featuring RECARO 8-way power seats with carbon backrests and red accents throughout, creating a dynamic yet comfortable cockpit.
The S210 is set to be limited to 500 production units, with details on price and availability yet to be announced at the time of writing but expected sometime in the spring of 2025.
