Despite previous reports, James Woods‘ house was spared amid the ongoing Southern California wildfires.

After evacuating this week under the impression his home was destroyed in the Palisades Fire, the 2x Oscar nominee shared his relief over discovering that his house survived the fire that ripped through his neighborhood.

“A miracle has happened. We managed to get to our property and our home, that we were told is gone forever, is still standing,” he wrote Friday on X. “In this hellish landscape ‘standing’ is relative, but smoke and other damage is not like the utter destruction around us.”

His post featured a video of “the view from our deck area,” showing the charred remains of his neighborhood, still shrouded in smoke.

Woods previously shared his devastation over the thought of losing his house in an appearance on CNN. “I thought I’d be stronger than this,” he said in the emotional interview after posting videos of the fire closing in on his backyard.

Meanwhile, stars like Paris Hilton, Milo Ventimiglia, Adam Brody, Leighton Meester and Billy Crystal have lost their homes in the ongoing wildfires.

Fires have broken out in the Pacific Palisades, Eaton Canyon, Malibu, the Hollywood Hills and other areas around Los Angeles County amid a “life-threatening and destructive” windstorm that picked up Tuesday.

As of Saturday, at least 11 people have died in the Southern California wildfires, which have forced approximately 105,000 people to evacuate the Palisades area, destroying at least 5,316 structures, including 426 homes. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has received 13 missing persons reports.

President Joe Biden, who extended his Los Angeles trip on Wednesday to visit first responders and those affected, declared the fires a major disaster.

“Over 100,000 people have been ordered to evacuate communities impacted by the Southern California wildfires,” wrote Biden on X. “At least two people have been killed. And many more are injured — including firefighters. It’s devastating. To the residents of Southern California: We are with you.”
