Skinny jeans have apparently made their way onto the 2025 bingo card — and Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have some thoughts.
The co-hosts kicked off Thursday morning’s Live with Kelly and Mark by discussing the trends that we all will be sporting in 2025. Among them were “picture perfect PJs,” “suede” and “the return of skinny jeans,” prompting an “oh God” from Ripa and a burst of excitement from Consuelos.
“Yes!” he exclaimed with a chuckle. “Finally. I can start wearing those again.”
Ripa countered, “I’m too attached to my crotch breathing. My crotch started breathing a few years ago, and I’m not willing to suffocate it again.”
Consuelos asked whether the projected trend is just for women, to which Ripa replied that it’s for “all people.”
“Because I do have some slim jeans that just became really — Lola, our daughter, would make fun of me,” Consuelos explained, recalling the meme of a dog squeezing itself into skinny jeans.
Ripa quipped, “She goes, ‘No, Dad. No!’”
Consuelos added, “She goes, ‘That’s what you look like.’”
After listing “cherry red” as another 2025 trend, they eventually pulled up the meme, which featured a French bulldog standing on its hind legs and wearing skinny jeans.
While Ripa noted, “that’s men in skinny jeans,” Consuelos ultimately concluded that’s “not a good look.”Nonetheless, Ripa closed out the segment about “what we’re going to be wearing” by making another case for “pajamas as outerwear.”
“Trust me when I tell you, as somebody that now fully embraces pajamas as outerwear, that’s your jam,” she insisted. “It is the best. Best thing you can do.”
Consuelos agreed, “You won’t go back.”
