The Year of the Snake will officially commence on January 29, when the Lunar calendar turns to a new year; and while brands like BAPE, RAINS and Stone Island have already revealed collections to celebrate, Diesel is entering the party with its very own lineup of serpent-inspired garments.

The 12-piece collection, imagined by creative director Glenn Martens, includes denim-drenched, scale-clad and pattern-popping ready-to-wear, bags and additional accessories. Across the range, the central snake motif appears in several treatments, including patchwork, prints of vintage Year of the Snake posters, realistic photography and scale-inspired lasers.

Among the standouts, a boxy black hoodie boasts raw-edge stitched patches with different graphic iterations of the serpent, and a khaki long-sleeve T-shirt features a twofold design in which a snake graphic peeks through an all-over peeling jersey overlay. Elsewhere, skin-tight small tops are covered in lifelike depictions of next year’s animal, and denim trousers are finished in an exclusive dark blue wash with a custom laser snakeskin pattern.

Bags include the Play Crossbody, which flaunts a vivid serpent graphic across its asymmetrical, controller-inspired facade, and the Charm-D Shoulder, which comes in argyle-quilted denim with a subtle scale pattern. Rounding out the lineup, the B-1dr belt is redone in the collection’s flagship snake pattern with a matching cut-out buckle cast shaped in Diesel’s signature Oval D logo.

Diesel’s Lunar New Year of the Snake capsule is now available to shop online and in select Diesel stores. Take a look at the full lineup in the gallery above.
