Tom Holland avoids walking the red carpet at his girlfriend Zendaya’s movie premieres to avoid taking away attention from her.
“Because it’s not my moment, it’s her moment, and if we go together, it’s about us,” the “Spider-Man: Homecoming” star, 28, further explained to Men’s Health for a cover story published Thursday.
Holland was noticeably missing from Zendaya’s “Dune: Part Two” and “Challengers” press runs, but the couple stepped out for a handful of public dates, including at the NBA playoffs.
Although the “Avengers: Endgame” star has been acting since he was a child, he’s admitted to having a discomfort with fame in the past.
“Look, I really am a massive fan of making movies but I really do not like Hollywood, it is not for me,” he said on Jay Shetty’s podcast in July 2023.
“The business really scares me. I understand that I’m a part of that business, and I enjoy my kind of interactions with it. But that said, I am always looking for ways to kind of remove myself from it, to kind of just live as normal a life as possible.”
Even while speaking to Men’s Health, the writer noted that Holland slid into his chair when he noticed a fan trying to sneak a photo during their interview.
In 2023, he took a break from Hollywood for a year because of “how difficult” it was to make “The Crowded Room,” he previously told “Extra.”
“When I have kids, you will not see me in movies anymore,” Holland added to Men’s Health Thursday, noting that he would spend most of his time with “golf and [being a] dad.
“And I will just disappear off the face of the earth,” he quipped.
Holland — whose romance with Zendaya was confirmed in 2021 when they were spotted having a steamy makeout session in a car — have not yet walked down the aisle or decided to have kids together.
However, there have been rumors in the past that the “Uncharted” star proposed to “The Greatest Showman” actress, also 28.
In 2022, Zendaya’s mom, Claire Stoermer, cryptically shut down the rumor mill, though, by posting the definition of the word “clickbait” to her Instagram Story.
