Richard Mille stands out with a new release of the set of limited edition RM 07-02 models. Releasing four striking automatic sapphire crystal versions, including two different versions of green, lilac and fuchsia pink, the new release features a different interpretation of the gem-set dials.
The collection highlights Richard Mille’s mechanical complexity in fine watchmaking. As connoisseurs in the watch world, the new RM 07-02 Automatic Sapphire timepieces sees four new interpretations that include an all-new lilac sapphire color. Each of the cases require over 1,000 hours of machining and at the heart of it all is the attractive dial that features perfectly symmetrical geometric shapes. The stones adorning the watch are placed strategically to catch the light at every angle. Precious stones like diamonds, hypnotic blue sapphires and vibrant yellow sapphires, are combined with ornamental stones such as orange spessartite, white agate or opal, and various shades of green tsavorite, chrysoprase and malachite to give the watch its dazzling effect.
The CRMA5 in-house skeletonised automatic movement displays the hours and minutes. The compact calibre has a power reserve of approximately 50 hours and features a baseplate and bridges crafted from either red or white gold depending on the version. The complexity also comes from producing colored sapphires. Due to its higher sensitivity to heating and growth process, the development of a new shade of lilac required a multitude of trials.
The rarity of the watches are amplified since the RM 07-02 Automatic Sapphire watches in the new collection are limited to seven timepieces for each of the four colors, including gem-set pink sapphire, lilac sapphire, green sapphire and gem-set green sapphire.
