It’s been just over a week since Luigi Mangione was arrested in connection to the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, but the documentaries are already coming.
ABC is set to air a new one-hour special titled Manhunt: Luigi Mangione and the CEO Murder — A Special Edition of 20/20 about the murder and the public’s shocking response to Mangione’s actions.
Per the logline, “The one-hour film takes a deep dive into a story that riveted the nation, providing a minute-by-minute investigation of the cold-blooded execution of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson and the shocking social media backlash that turned the alleged murderer into a folk hero for some,” via Variety.
The special will feature an exclusive audio recording of Mangione describing his travels through Asia. It will also reveal new details about the investigation into Mangione and what may have driven him to allegedly commit this crime.

Yes! ABC has already released a trailer that notes Mangione’s “untold story” is becoming a “Robin Hood moment.”
“How did he go from honor student and Ivy League to alleged killer?” a voice asks in the trailer.

How To Watch ABC’s Luigi Mangione Documentary Special
The one-hour special Manhunt: Luigi Mangione and the CEO Murder — A Special Edition of 20/20 will air on ABC Thursday, Dec. 19 at 10 p.m. ET.
The special will also be available to stream the next day on Hulu.
Hulu plans begin at $9.99 a month, or $99.99 a year, for ad-supported streaming. Hulu without ads is available for $18.99 a month.
For those hoping to catch the documentary special live, Hulu also offers live television plans.
