Former president Barack Obama, an avid book reader, will host a new podcast starting next month to talk with guests about volumes that have affected them.
“A Great Book With Barack Obama” will be available on Audible on Sept. 24.
“At a time when fewer people are able to sit down with a book, it’s important to remember the joy and power that can come from reading,” he wrote on social media. “And some books don’t just tell a story — they change the way we see the world.”
Since he left office in 2017, Obama has published a semiannual reading list of the works he’s enjoyed that year.
Obama recently collaborated on a podcast with author Malcolm Gladwell to produce an eight-part series about the Reconstruction era.
The “Great Book” podcast will be a collaboration between Audible and Higher Ground, the production company started by Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama.
