EXCLUSIVE: Christmas is getting ever closer, and so is the Wham! doc.
The BBC, Blink Films and Sony‘s WHAM!: Last Christmas Unwrapped has unveiled trailer and you can watch it above.
Airing next Saturday, the doc tells the story of how the band turned the track “Last Christmas” into a cultural phenomenon. The trailer is certain to get the nostalgia flowing with clips of George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley performing, while Ridgeley can be seen in an exclusive interview.
The doc will also feature plenty archive radio and video footage of Michael, who died on Christmas Day 2016.
Directed by BAFTA and Golden Globe-nominated Nigel Cole (Calendar Girls, Made in Dagenham), the show includes an exclusive broadcast of Michael performing “Last Christmas” at Wembley Arena in December 2006 along with never before seen outtakes from the original 35mm music video footage. It will also reunite some of the group of friends from the original music video, set against the snow-covered backdrop of Saas-Fee in Switzerland.
Wham!: Last Christmas Unwrapped, produced by Blink Films and Sony Music Entertainment in association with Andrew Ridgeley and George Michael Entertainment, will air on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer on Saturday December 14.
