The Continental, a series set in the John Wick universe, will not have a second season on Peacock.
The prequel series, which consisted of three episodes and was deemed a limited series, premiered on the streamer in September 2023. It starred Colin Woodell as a young Winston Scott who plans to take control of The Continental, the hotel featured in the John Wick franchise.
In a new interview, producer Basil Iwanyk seemingly confirmed there would not be another season.
“I think we were happy with season one,” Iwanyk told The Direct. “I think that we talked a little bit about season two. But I think the feeling is, if we’re going to have something on television in the John Wick universe, this Robert Levine version that we went out with, that we’re negotiating with somebody, is probably the better option for the John Wick content in the TV world.”

He continued, “So, I loved making [The Continental]. I love[d] the 70s of [it]. I loved Albert Hughes. Everything about it. I think it was a really cool, crazy idea for it. I think now we want to put together something that is going to inform more of what the future of the franchise is going to be, yeah.”
Iwanyk was referencing the sequel series titled John Wick: Under the High Table. In August, Deadline broke the news that the series would be executive produced by the film franchise’s star, Keanu Reeves, and director Chad Stahelski, who is also set to direct the pilot episode.
Under the High Table is written by The Old Man co-creator Robert Levine and will pick up directly after the end of John Wick: Chapter 4.
There is also a fifth John Wick film in development, and John Wick: The High Table will reportedly not interfere with plans for a potential new feature installment.
