Infinity Nikki, the highly anticipated RPG that combines open-world exploration with a dress-up game, is almost here.
Created by the Singapore-based studio Infold Games, Infinity Nikki is the next installment in the dress-up game series known as Nikki. It will be available to pre-download starting Tuesday, but officially launches on Thursday. The game is set to launch on mobile devices, PlayStation 5, and Windows PC. The developers released a new story trailer Monday evening, which teased a scenario where Nikki will save a mystical god of wishes.
Based on the new trailer, it’s looking like the story will lean into various fantasy elements. Infinity Nikki takes place in a world called Miraland. Within it, there’s a magical forest where fairy creatures called Faewish Sprites collect people’s wishes for a god. However, it looks like that god has gone missing and it’ll be on Nikki to save it. We don’t know all the details yet, but the trailer also gave us a glimpse at two characters, including a possible bad guy who looks like if you turned a Disney Prince into a Final Fantasy character.
The hype around Infinity Nikki has been pretty high. That’s largely because it’s rare to get a fashion-focused adventure game, let alone one that boasts open-world exploration, a full-fledged story, and loads of puzzles. Additionally, credits on the development team, including a developer from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, have helped fuel further interest in the game and boost the studio’s reputation. Infold Games ran a closed beta in August of this year, and soon, everyone interested will be able to try it.
