Kaitlan Collins has been named as CNN‘s Chief White House Correspondent, but will also continue to anchor The Source.
Calling her new role “unprecedented,” CNN announced Collins will lead the news net’s reporting on President-elect Donald Trump’s second administration across digital, TV and streaming platforms.
She will also continue with her 9pm spot on The Source, but will relocate from New York to Washington, D.C. for her White House duties. She landed that role last year, making her one of the most important anchors at CNN in the process.
“Kaitlan Collins is the perfect person to lead coverage of the new Trump White House, even as she continues to anchor her key primetime show The Source,” said CNN Chairman and CEO Mark Thompson. “Kaitlan is a political journalist of real depth and tenacity who already boasts an amazing record of scoops and exclusive interviews. I’m excited to see what new heights she scales as she combines this key new posting with her duties as a major CNN anchor.”
