Now, look for cozy knitted pieces in neutral colors like cream, gray, and beige. Patterned sets are less on trend, so they’ll be harder to find if that’s what you’re shopping for.

Yes to the skirt suit, goodbye to jumpsuits
The business-casual trend continues to have us in its grip in and outside the office. So it’s no wonder that skirt suits remain one of the biggest trends this winter. The miniskirt version is still the most popular. To stay warm during the colder months, pair yours with thermal tights and/or knee-high boots, under which you can hide extra-high wool socks. It also helps to be nice and cozy on top, so layer your favorite sweater under the blazer.
By the way, party girls are getting their money’s worth on this trend. More and more shiny sets are hitting stores, with metallic bouclé in particular on the rise. What we’re seeing less of these days? Jumpsuits.

Yes to wool suits, goodbye to linen suits
Of course, the most classic dress alternative of all shouldn’t be missing from this list: trouser suits. While we should have long since stowed the summer version—that is, the linen suit—away until next summer, wool suits seem to have a revival every year as the temperatures drop. And no wonder, considering how well it proves that extra dose of warmth.
