Ryan Preece is joining RFK Racing for the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season. Preece will drive the No.60 Ford Mustang and will join Brad Keselowski and Chris Buescher for a full-time three car lineup.
“We’re thrilled to formally and publicly announce our expansion plans and the next step in our evolution at RFK,” said Steve Newmark, President, RFK Racing.
“First, we’d like to thank Kroger and the vision of Tad and Jodi (Geschickter), without which we wouldn’t be in the position of growing with a third car in 2025 and beyond. Their commitment to us on behalf of Kroger has not only allowed us to fulfill our growth objectives in ways we’ve long desired, but also to continue to push the envelope when it comes to finding the competitive edge needed to compete at the top level of NASCAR.
“Second, Ryan Preece is who we identified from day one when discussing this third entry, and his young talent from the grassroots level all the way up to the Cup Series is something that excites us moving forward. On behalf of the entire team at RFK, we can’t wait to roll out the No. 60 with Ryan Preece, and our larger Kroger partnership encompassing all three of our Ford Mustangs, in 2025.”
Preece joins RFK Racing after leaving Stewart-Haas Racing, which closed shop after the completion of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season. The Connecticut native made his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut in 2013 with Tommy Baldwin Racing. In 2016 he jumped to JD Motorsports and in 2017 he joined Joe Gibbs Racing and continued racing in the Xfinity Series. Preece continued his Xfinity career with JR Motorsports in 2019 with a part-time schedule and finished in the Top 10 in the four races he raced in.
In 2019 he signed with JTG Daugherty as a full-time driver in the Cup Series and also drove part-time for JR Motorsports in the Xfinity Series. For the 2022 season he signed with Stewart-Haas Racing as a reserve driver for all related teams. In 2023 he replaced Cole Custer in the No. 41 Ford Mustang and drover full-time Cup Series schedule until Stewart-Haas Racing through the 2024 season.
In 187 career NASCAR Cup Series race Preece has four Top 5 finishes, 10 Top finishes and one pole position. During the 2024 season with Stewart-Haas Racing he had one Top 5 and five Top finishes.
RFK Racing is entering its 38th season in NASCAR and its ownership group features Jack Roush, Fenway Sports Group and NASCAR Cup Series driver Brad Keselowski.
